Gwangandaegyo Bridge to use Smart Tolling System
source: visitbusan
toll: 통행료
A new toll collection system will be applied to Gwangandaegyo Bridge from Feb. 1, 2025.
The Smart Tolling System uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition to identify a vehicle by its license plate and automatically charges a toll.
City officials expect the Smart Tolling System to significantly reduce congestion and improve traffic flow as the technology removes physical toll barriers. Drivers can pay toll fees without stopping or slowing down.
For vehicles already equipped with Hi-Pass, the system will continue to collect toll fees as it does currently.
Vehicles without Hi-Pass can still use the Smart Tolling System through one of two options. Drivers can pay toll fees automatically by registering their payment information on the Gwangandaegyo Bridge website. Alternatively, they can manually pay the toll within 15 days of their trip via the website or customer call center. After the 15-day grace period, drivers will be notified by electronic notice, and if payment is not received, a postal notice will be sent.
The city is offering a discount on toll fees for drivers who use Hi-Pass or register their payment information.
