The 2025 Busan Citizens’ Bell-tolling Ceremony will be held on Dec. 31 at Yongdusan Park. Residents are invited to bid farewell to 2024 and usher in the Year of the Blue Snake.

Attendance is capped at 8,000 people. However, entry may be restricted if safety concerns arise. Visitors can stay warm with free hot drinks and hand warmers at the Civil Service Booth. The event will feature various activities and live music to keep the festive spirit alive despite the winter chill.

The countdown to 2025 will begin at 11:55 p.m. at the “jonggak,” or traditional Korean belfry, in the middle of the park. The 10-minute ceremony will be followed by a New Year’s address from Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon. The ceremony will conclude with a dazzling fireworks display, adding a vibrant touch to the celebrations and setting an optimistic tone for the year ahead.
