How to enter the 2026 Busan City Brand Goods Design Contest
The 2026 Busan City Brand Goods Design Contest is open for entries until June 17. The contest invites creators to help shape Busan’s brand through original and creative design.
In last year’s competition, 18 winners were chosen from 114 submissions. Of those, 10 products were successfully launched in Busan Brand Shops.
Participants may apply in one of two categories:
• Welcome Kit Goods: A set of two or three items – such as travel essentials or desk accessories – that express Busan’s identity.
• Lifestyle Goods: Everyday products that feature Busan’s iconic symbols – such as the camellia flower, Gwangandaegyo Bridge, and the city’s official slogan and visual identity.
Participants may submit up to two proposals per category. Any use of generative AI must be disclosed at the time of submission.
The contest is open to businesses registered in Korea and to individuals who can complete business registration within 2 months of the winner announcement. International residents may also apply under the same conditions. Under Korean immigration law, international residents with eligible visa types may register a business using their Alien Registration Number.
Entries will be evaluated through a two-stage process: a document review followed by a physical product assessment. After the first screening by industry professionals, shortlisted participants must produce physical models of their designs using 3D printing or other methods for final judging.
A total of 18 winners will be selected, with a combined prize pool of 23 million won. The results will be announced on July 28 through the official contest website.
Winning designs will serve as key assets in Busan’s city marketing efforts, including for major events such as the 2028 World Design Capital Busan. Winners will also have the opportunity to display their products in Busan Brand Shops.
