Big day for Boogi

 

Boogi began his internship as Busan’s mascot three years ago. Now, the lovable seagull is getting the gig permanently.

The city is holding the 2024 Boosruk Day-Boogi Pocha (2024 부스럭데이-부기포차) to celebrate Boogi’s promotion, which takes place at 5 p.m. on April 20 at Busan Sports Complex and the surrounding area. 

Around 100 Boogi fans, known collectively as “Boosrugi” (부스러기), who pre-registered will attend. 

Boogi’s first act as the permanent mascot is to present Busan’s representative delicacies, especially “pajeon,” fish cake and “ssiat hotteok,” to those gathered. The foods and other tasty treats will be offered by “pojangmacha,” or street food tents, set up for the event.

Then, at 7 p.m., visitors will enjoy “We Are Here to See Boogi” and “Boogi Show” on the main stage. During the programs, Boogi’s colleagues will make surprise appearances to congratulate and celebrate the bird’s big day.

The event will be live-streamed on Boogi’s YouTube channel so fans worldwide can celebrate.
