#14. 강홍구 Kang Hong-goo
강홍구(1956- )는 디지털 합성 사진을 주된 매체로 삼아 주거환경으로서 현대 도시의 모습을 기록해 왔다. 〈광안대교 1〉(2002), 〈광안대교 3〉(2002), 〈광안대교 5〉(2002)로 이어지는 사진 연작은 2002년 제1회 부산비엔날레 출품작으로, 부산을 상징하는 대표적인 장소 광안리, 해운대 해수욕장에서 당시 건설 중이었던 광안대교의 모습을 담아낸다. 디지털카메라로 여러 장면을 촬영해 이를 모아 한 장으로 거칠게 접합하거나 필요에 따라 몇 장면들을 몽타주 해 완성한 이미지는 부산이 거대한 유원지가 되어간다는 비판의식 속에서 느낀 작가 자신의 심상을 반영한 것이다.
Kang Hong-goo (1956- ) records modern cities as residential environments, using digital composite photography as his primary medium. The photo series, Gwangan Bridge 1 (2002), Gwangan Bridge 3 (2002), and Gwangan Bridge 5 (2002), was submitted to the first Busan Biennale in 2002. These images captured the construction of Gwangan Bridge and were taken from locations on Gwangalli and Haeundae Beaches; well-known symbols of Busan. Using a digital camera, the artist took multiple shots which were then combined as needed, creating rough montages to complete the final pictures. The series reflects the artist’s personal thoughts and feelings amid criticism that Busan was becoming a giant amusement park.
