Yeongdo Island has seen numerous changes and steady growth throughout the years, and its transformation into a tourist destination continues. Since May 17, visitors to Yeongdo Island have been able to take the Kangkangee Sea Bus, a casual boat cruise created to better explore the island and the waters around it. This makes the boat tour Busan's newest way to explore the city through the sea.

There are already a few boat tours, as well as various water activities and leisure sports Busan citizens and residents can enjoy, but the Kangkangee Sea Bus is a little different than others. The boat is connected with the Kangkangee Culture Village and resembles a sampan, a small flat-bottomed boat of Chinese origin. Weighing in at 13 tons with a capacity of 34 passengers, the deck and exterior of the boat are painted with brilliant shades of primary colors. Rukkit Kuanhawate, a graphic artist from Thailand, designed the colors and patterns for the vessel. Mr. Kuanhawate also participated in the design of the Kangkangee Culture Village itself.

The Kangkangee Sea Bus roundtrip tour departs from the information center of the culture village and goes through Yeongdo Bridge and the repair shipyard. Its course takes 20 minutes in total. It operates three times every weekend at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. On weekdays, only group bookings are available. Every passenger must pay a 6,000 won boarding fee. If there is a tour guide present, it will be 10,000 won.
